OUR COMMUNITY

It’s a patio view of the sunset over the river gorge. It’s bumping into friends on the trail. Local food artisans at your doorstep. Outdoor concerts. Public art. Knowing your neighbors. It’s connection—that’s what makes this unique urban neighborhood the best place to live, eat, work and play in Spokane.

Gathering Places

The heart of life in Kendall Yards, the Welcome Center and The Nest are equal parts community center and event venue. Meet friends on the lawn at The Nest for outdoor movies and concerts—or simply to enjoy a sunset while the osprey fish for dinner. Warm up in the Welcome Center when it’s cold with wine tastings, live music and free wifi.

Local Art & Artisans

Public art celebrates our history and culture. Sculptors, painters, musicians, chefs and craftspeople: all these inspiring community members contribute to the growing showcase of local flavor. Greats like Harold Balazs, Bill and Karma Simmons and David Blaine are joined by inspiring young creatives to craft an unparalleled cultural experience.

Parks & Open Spaces

We have dedicated over 25 acres of this community to parks and open space. Just a 5 minute stroll along the Centennial Trail from downtown, you can eat, shop, live and play with a view of the Spokane River Gorge and osprey soaring overhead.

The Nest

Named for the osprey nest overlooking the plaza, The Nest serves as our town center—a gathering place for concerts, outdoor events or simply to watch the sun set.

Overlooks

To offer opportunities for visitors and residents to enjoy the panoramic river views, we created several overlooks along the Spokane River Gorge section of the Centennial Trail.

Olmsted Brothers Green

Olmsted Brothers Green park features a playground near the Centennial Trail, a picnic shelter for family gatherings and ample green space.

Centennial Trail

We connected Downtown Spokane to Riverside State Park—bringing outdoor recreation and urban lifestyle closer together.

Training Yards Community Gym

A 24-hour community fitness facility with direct Centennial Trail access—that also offers a fun lounge space. Our gym is an included community amenity available to Kendall Yards residents, business owners and employees of businesses within the Kendall Yards Business Owners Association.
